A mollusc clicks shut

just like it's name.

If it's a bivalve, it has to protect

it's mantle.

From,

the Ray

the Starfish

the Otter

the Worm

the Grouper

the Crab

and the Ginglymostoma.

Blind and robust, it lays anchor

and breathes.

For twenty years, thirty years, forty years, fifty.

Unless it's a scallop {!}

They, can swim {~}
